Mechanical seal system SPA-530
A complete Plan 53A seal support system for arrangement 3 (3CW-FB, 3CW-BB, 3CW-FF) dual mechanical seals, in accordance with API 682 / ISO 21049. Suitable for shaft diameters ≤60mm, also available for >60mm (requires an exception to API 682). Low budget, complete and fully functional units, best suited for standard applications. Designed, engineered and built in-house by Flopac.
Standard configuration
- Design PED 2014/68/EU (CE) – ATEX 2014/34/EU Zone 2 II/A T1-T3 and/or ASME VIII div. 1
- Suitable for general oil/water service, non-hazardous, wetted parts AISI 316(L)
- Design 40 barg @ -15/+90°C / ANSI 300#-NPS 6″-sch.40s, Vmin 12 L @ NLL
- Seal supply and return connections ¾” NPT, further connections ½” NPT, coolwater connections OD ½”
- Engineering units: SI, Bar/°C
- NDE: Visual, hydrostatic and leaktesting
Main components
- One all welded SS316L piping assembly with threaded NPT connections
- Nitrogen charge, fill and drain connections with block valves, fill connection with non-return valve, nitrogen charge connection with a 3.2mm bore SS316 restriction orifice
- 4-20mA Smart/Hart® pressure transmitter, 0.2% accuracy, local display, IP66, SS316 wetted parts, mounted on a SS316 instrument valve
- 4-20mA Smart/Hart® Guided Wave Radar level transmitter, 0.5% accuracy, IP66, SS316 wetted parts
- Flopac weld pad level gauge with reflex glass and level markings, SS316 wetted parts
- Internal Flopac spiral wound cooling coil, 850W nominal capacity, SS316, connections OD ½” tube

- Extended NDE packages including X-ray, LPE and P(A)MI

- Buffer liquid circulation unit for enhanced cooling
